After once preaching a future of greener energy, the Houston power company NRG Energy is selling its renewable energy business and focusing on fossil fuels. NRG is unloading its renewable business in deals worth about $1.8 billion, while also selling in a separate transaction its traditional power plants in Louisiana and Texas to the Louisiana utility Cleco for $1 billion.
