A major wind farm off the Norfolk coast has helped to power record profits for the Danish turbine developer behind the UK’s biggest offshore wind projects. Orsted, formerly known as Dong Energy, said its Race Bank wind farm has reached full capacity and could power half a million homes with the 90 turbines located 17 miles from Blackney Point. The project first began sending electricity to the grid in May last year and has steadily increased its electricity flows to the grid to exceed 1 terwatt-hour of production, helping to power record profits for the group.
