Amherst College is moving the staff that manages its $2.9 billion endowment to Boston at the request of its newly hired chief investment officer, according to a report. Mount Holyoke College nearby in South Hadley is hiring its first chief investment officer and considering establishing its investment management operation in either New York City or Boston.
