The world's biggest consumer technology companies are American and, increasingly, Chinese. Despite worthy success stories such as Spotify and Farfetch, Europe hasn't produced a global company to rival a Google, Facebook, or an Alibaba. Business Insider spoke to seven venture capital investors and founders, and found a complex range of issues that means it's difficult to recreate Silicon Valley anywhere other than Silicon Valley.
