The Port of South Louisiana recently entered into an agreement to acquire Avondale Global Gateway, a 254-acre global logistics hub located on the Mississippi River. The port commission is anticipated to approve the $445 million acquisition unanimously, port officials said in a press release. The purchase will help the port be more competitive in traditional international trade and focus on renewable energy development, they added.
