Johns Hopkins University's endowment — the largest among all colleges in the state at more than $3 billion — fell by 0.6 percent in fiscal 2016. The University System of Maryland's endowment, with funds distributed among five system universities and 18 foundations and organizations, also fell by about 1.7 percent.
