<p>The global private equity (PE) market continued to see an uptick in fundraising in 2016, with over 800 funds closed, raising a combined $345 billion out of the $602 billion private capital secured by global funds, a report by research firm Preqin said.</p>
<p>Even as there was a 14.5 per cent decline in the number of funds closed, larger fund corpus, which averaged a record of $476 million, helped buoy the total fundraising value by 5.2 per cent over the previous year, Preqin’s latest private capital report added.</p>
