Bento for Business was founded by a Discover Financial veteran. : Bento for Business, which helps small companies keep a handle on employee spending and reimbursement, raised $9 million.The company launched in San Francisco and expanded last year to Chicago, where CEO Farhan Ahmad lives and about half the company's 25 employees are based.The company was founded in 2013 by Ahmad, who previously worked for Discover Financial, JPMorgan Chase and Bank One. It previously raised about $9 million and had a number of Chicago-area funds as early backers, including LionBird and Moderne Ventures.
