London-based alternative investment manager Sir Chris Hohn gained 14% in his main fund through the end of November, trumping the performance of both the S&P 500 index as well as most hedge fund rivals. The Children’s Investment Fund, known as TCI and founded by Hohn in 2003, credits correct calls on Spain’s airport privatization, as well as investments in European aerospace company Airbus and cable operator Time Warner Cable for the gains, according to an article in the Financial Times.
