<p>The Carlyle Group has hired Michael Silverstein as an operating executive for its global consumer & retail group. His appointment becomes effective January 2, 2017.</p>
<p>Silverstein is joining Carlyle from management consulting giant Boston Consulting Group where he has served as a senior partner and managing director since 1993. He first came on board at BCG in 1980. There he has helped the company beef up its consumer practice as he advised CEOs of multimillion dollar global companies.</p>
