Yannis Voyatzis

Yannis has spent 15 of his 17 years of professional experience focusing on private equity transactions in emerging markets . He has extensive experience across different types of transactions (e.g. corporate & financial restructurings, buyouts, growth capital, PIPEs, fund-of-funds) and sectors (e.g. pharmaceuticals, FMCG, mining, healthcare, retail, logistics, education, industrial services).
Between 2007-14, Yannis was the Head of the Emerging Europe private equity division of the National Bank of Greece ("NBG"). Under his lead, the business developed into one of the most active PE platforms across Southeast Europe, closing 8 transactions and investing total funds in excess of €150 million (including co-investment participations).
Prior to NBG, Yannis worked for ca. 7 years in Citigroup Venture Capital International in London, where he was responsible for originating, structuring and executing PE transactions in Emerging Markets.
To date Yannis has closed, monitored or exited 20 Private Equity transactions to date (ca. €400 million of invested capital) and realized returns in excess of 30% IRR with exits including both trade sales and IPO (through the London Stock Exchange).
He also has extensive monitoring experience, having sat to date on the boards of 12 portfolio companies. He currently sits on the board of BIRGIMEFAR (Turkey) and he has also represented NBGI in the past on the boards of PRESTIGE (Bulgaria), DODONI (Greece), CHILLBOX (Greece), AKTO (Greece), MERMEREN (FYROM), GEROLYMATOS (Greece), SANTE (Turkey) and CVCI on the boards of one listed and three private companies. Yannis has also served as member of the Advisory Board of Turkven’s Turkish PE Fund I L.P.
He holds an MBA in International Business and an MEng in Chemical Engineering.
