Spencer Edge, CFA, CAIA
Spencer was most recently a Partner at Tiedemann Wealth Management, with responsibility for investment research/due diligence and asset allocation. Tiedemann Wealth Management is a ~$13bn AUA investment firm managing capital for UNHW families, foundations, endowments and other institutions.
After spending 8 years in TWM's NYC office, Spencer spent the past 2+ years in the San Francisco office, where he continued to perform initial and ongoing due diligence on prospective and existing investments across all asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity). Spencer also performed financial and economic analysis as one of the Firm's senior investment strategists.
Prior to joining Tiedemann in 2007, Spencer was in the Global Risk Advisory Services practice at Ernst & Young LLP. During his tenure, he worked with the Credit & Market Risk Management teams and a derivatives specialist group, serving a broad range of clients. In this capacity, Spencer performed complex analyses of these companies’ investment and loan portfolios, as well as their derivatives portfolios and strategies.
Spencer earned a Master's in Accounting from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA from Dartmouth College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco, the Foreign Policy Association, the Aspen Institute Society of Fellows and the Brookings Society.
Spencer has spoken on numerous panels at industry conferences hosted by the likes of the Financial Times and Institutional Investor amongst others. He recently hosted and developed the content behind TWM's first West Coast Investor Forum featuring principals from leading investment firms.
Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Spencer currently resides in San Francisco with his wife, Dulci, and newborn son, Charley.
