Michael Vacca
Chief Investment Officer, Co-founder
Mr. Vacca is a 35 year veteran of Wall Street. Prior to co-founding Atlantic Solar Capital Management, Mr. Vacca was a Partner at New York based hedge fund Cura Capital Management from 2006 through April 2011 and Managing Member of Cura Incubation Partners. From March 1998 through February 2006, Mr. Vacca was a senior partner and portfolio manager at New York based hedge fund Clinton Group, Inc. As Senior Portfolio Manager, he developed and managed the firm’s convertible arbitrage, event driven and credit arbitrage strategies. He had oversight of $2 billion in assets under management. Mr. Vacca was also instrumental in developing Clinton’s structured credit products, managing $2 billion in synthetic corporate credit CDOs. From February 2004 until his departure, Mr. Vacca served as Clinton’s Chief Operating Officer and was elected to its Board of Directors in October 2004. He spent the first 22 years of his career managing institutional and proprietary sell side trading desks at a number of prominent investment banking firms. Mr. Vacca’s investment experiences cover a broad range of products including convertible securities, corporate debt, bank loans, distressed securities, equities, options and derivatives. His fund management experience spans portfolio and risk management, fund structuring and incubation, compliance and operational due diligence. Mr. Vacca holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
