Michael Tew
Michael Tew is Managing Director of Liquid Holdings Group, LLC, a diversified financial services company that leverages its proprietary technology to create unique, unparalleled functionality and market access to the institutional trader.
Mr. Tew serves as an investment committee member of a number of institutional asset allocation vehicles. He is also Director of Pacific Capital Partners & Associates, Ltd., an independent private equity sponsorship firm that makes strategic investments in security technology, media and entertainment, and energy firms. Prior to Liquid Holdings Group and Pacific Capital Partners, Mr. Tew served as Director of Research for Ader Investment Management, a family office.
Mr. Tew is a financial entrepreneur. In 2007 he founded Sand Hill Research Partners, a Palo Alto – based independent research firm providing unbiased insight to institutional investors in venture –backed technology companies. Prior, he founded and later exited CapitalHQ, a consulting firm for C-Level executives. He also founded SPAC Research Partners LLC, serving as Chief Executive Officer until January 2010. In this role, Mr. Tew became one of the best recognized experts in the SPAC and reverse merger structure. Mr. Tew began his career at Bear, Stearns & Co. where he became the youngest Vice President in the firm’s history, producing several groundbreaking and institutionally –recognized research reports.
Mr. Tew holds a B.S. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He has also studied at Groupe HEC (Paris, France), Bocconi (Milan, Italy) und Wirstschaftsuniversitat Wien (Vienna, Austria).
