Jerry Polacek

Jerry Polacek is a co-founder of Energy & Infrastructure Capital and serves as its CEO and Chief Investment Officer. He is responsible for supervision of all aspects of the firm’s investment activity and strategy, as well as overall management of the firm. Mr. Polacek has over 20 years of financial and investment management experience and has focused exclusively on principal investing and financing in the global energy and infrastructure sectors for the past 14 years. Prior to forming EIC, Mr. Polacek was a Managing Director at GE Capital, Energy Financial Services and led its fixed income and distressed debt investing. In 2006, Mr. Polacek co-founded the renewable energy group at GE Capital as head of portfolio management and also managed its energy technology venture capital portfolio. Prior to these assignments, Mr. Polacek spent six years leading teams in executing private equity investments and structured financings in the global power, renewables, midstream, and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining GE in 2001, Mr. Polacek worked as a controller at Morgan Stanley in its venture capital division and as a senior auditor with Ernst & Young where he obtained a CPA. Mr. Polacek holds a BBA in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, from Adelphi University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship with honors from Columbia Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
