Some highlights of my background are as follows:
Currently offering “bolt on” hedge fund investment management service to China based investment distributors.
Ex-Aviva (top 10 global insurer). 4 years as head of research/hedge fund analyst for $2B fund of funds platform.
Generalist analyst from 2011-2012. At the launch of the Aviva hedge fund program in 2011 located, assessed, wrote up, presented and funded 40 funds in the first 18 months from program launch. Essentially designed the research process for this internal start up and leveraged my extensive contact list into a prompt roll out of a benchmark beating multi manager investment program.
Portfolio returns significantly exceeded the HFRI fund of funds benchmark and individual strategy buckets exceeded the returns of the HFRI sub strategy indices annually and from inception.
Built out “European regulated” funds of funds via structures such as UCITS, SICAV, SMAs on regulated platforms, etc..
Hired three staff members into the investment program via personal industry contacts.
Focused on event driven and equity hedge strategies 2013 - 2014.
Significant sales background: Former retail broker with extensive sales training. As an MD within OppenheimerFunds conceptualized and built out an EM fund of hedge funds and went to every marketing presentation as the subject matter expert and the fund raised over $300MM. This included a $40MM seed investor and a $30MM subsequent investor.
Ran the EM program within OppenheimerFunds. Served as analyst and portfolio manager. The fund was nominated for an InvestHedge award.
Extensive background in market risk management.
Significant experience on a fixed income trading floor.
Provided advisory on complex portfolios of mortgage and other fixed income derivatives at BlackRock.
Served as a consultant in the risk management practice at Ernst & Young.
Received financial training earning an MBA from the University of Chicago.
