Erik is a Founder and Partner of White Point Partners, a Charlotte-based private investment firm specializing in the acquisition, development, and repositioning of multifamily and retail assets throughout the Southeastern U.S. He brings substantial experience in deal sourcing, underwriting, equity and debt structuring, and asset management to the firm. He was previously Senior Vice President of Finance for Campus Crest Communities, Inc. (NYSE:CCG), a $1 billion REIT focused on developing, operating and owning high-quality student housing properties across North America. In this role, Erik was responsible for the development and implementation of capital markets strategies, evaluating and underwriting acquisition opportunities, sourcing growth capital, overseeing the asset management function, managing joint venture relationships, and leading the investor relations program. Prior to joining Campus Crest, he worked in J.P. Morgan’s Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking Group where he advised clients on M&A transactions and raised over $6.5 billion of debt and equity capital. Erik began his career at Wells Fargo, where he completed the firm’s Credit Management Training Program and provided large real estate firms with acquisition and development financing at both the corporate and project level.
Erik received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Masters of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Advisory Board of the McCombs School of Business REIT Fund at The University of Texas at Austin.
