Private Equity
One of the City's best known fund managers is in talks with private equity firms over plans to buy out the asset management arm of Anglo-South African financial giant Old Mutual. Richard Buxton runs Old Mutual Global Investors’ £25bn third party fund management business. He is understood to have been approached by investors including TA Associates, which previously backed Jupiter Asset Management. Bankers at Goldman Sachs are expected to drum up interest from other potential investors.
