South Dakota Investment Council, Pierre, committed $243 million to Lone Star Real Estate Fund IV, a distressed commercial real estate debt and equity fund managed by Lone Star Funds, said Tammy Otten, assistant investment officer, in an e-mail to Pensions & Investments. 

Also, the council committed $97 million to Blackstone Capital Partners VII, a private equity fund managed by Blackstone Group.
