The Port of Oswego in New York will receive a $4 million federal grant to fund an expansion of operations, purchase new cargo-handling equipment and boost rail infrastructure, U.S. Sen. and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced Tuesday. Issued through the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the grant will help pay for the procurement of a telescopic ship loader conveyer and upgrades to railroad track, which will help increase the port’s capacity to access domestic and international markets, Schumer and port officials said in a press release.
