The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A. Metro) has been awarded over $800 million in federal funding to improve mobility and upgrade transportation infrastructure ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be held in the L.A. area. The funding includes more than $700 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 and the recently passed fiscal-year 2024 appropriations bill, as well as $139 million to reconnect communities and strengthen mobility across highway and arterial barriers from the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods grant program.
