Summary List PlacementEducation startup Scoodle recently raised $2 million in a seed funding round backed by Google. Cofounded in 2017 by chief exec and former Googler Ismail Jeilani, the firm aims to turn teachers into online influencers or — as Jeilani puts it himself — "the Kim Kardashians of education". The firm, which has previously been backed by the likes of Twitter cofounder Biz Stone, rode the remote education wave of COVID-19, with user numbers rising tenfold over the past year, according to Jeilani.
