The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm, said Thursday it acquired the Rhode Island State Energy Center, the 583 megawatt natural-gas fired power plant in Johnston, from Entergy Corp. Carlyle agreed to pay $490 million, inclusive of working capital and subject to certain purchase price adjustments.
