Global alternative investment manager Cerberus Capital Management’s operations and advisory affiliate has named former J.P. Morgan executive Afsheen Afshar to the post of chief artificial intelligence officer. In his new role, Afshar will lead the development of a proprietary operations platform focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning, the company said in a statement.. Specifically, the new platform will identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics to drive operational improvement, enhance decision-making, and create automated business insights for Cerberus' trading businesses and its portfolio companies. Based in New York, the position is new and will be effective November 20.
