Job Function
In this leadership role, the Senior Director provides investment management for the recently announced $150M Capital Venture Fund for Qualcomm China. The fund will invest in Chinese companies in all stages and in the areas of mobile internet, semiconductor, mobile commerce, mobile health and mobile education. Qualcomm Ventures primarily focus on early stage investment.
The successful candidate will develop investment these, analyze the industry trends, and execute a multi-faceted investment strategy. The candidate needs to effectively expand deal source, collaborate with co-investment partners, systemically evaluate the targets, negotiate the investment terms, manage and provide add-on values to the portfolio companies for Qualcomm investment. 
The role is based in Beijing reporting to Vice President of Business Development.

Responsibilities
1. Develop short-term and long-term strategy to expand the deal source. Actively identify new investment opportunities. Build up a deal pipeline.
2.Create strategic linkages between the company and Qualcomm business. Fully understand Qualcomms business direction and technology roadmap of each business units. Actively build the relationship with key business leaders
3.Conduct thorough analysis on the industry trend. Develop investment these, and constantly fine-tune the strategy. 
4.Understand the management team of startups. Conduct technical and business due diligence, build financial models, manage deal negotiation, and prepare the supporting material for an investment recommendation to Investment Decision Committee
5.Manage Qualcomm portfolio investments: establish strategic and operational relationship between Qualcomm and the portfolio companies, monitor investments for financial accounting and management review purposes, help portfolio companies with their operation, strategy and growth prospects to enhance their chances of success
6.Manage the exit strategy
7.Actively promote Qualcomm Ventures through marketing activities, public speeches and events
8.Coordinate cross-functional (engineering, marketing, finance) and cross-departmental business development activities pertaining to new technologies and investment opportunities

Basic Qualifications
1.At least 6 years of experience in venture investment in TMT space in China. Track record in leading the investment and support the portfolio companies to successful exits
2.Deep understanding of investment terms, company structure changes, corporate governance, and startup human resource management. 
3.Hands-on experience in deal sourcing and due-diligence. Hands-on in financial modeling is required
4.Established relationship and networking with other VC partners, startup community, investment bankers, and large internet companies as potential acquirers
5.Strong technical background of technical, preferably in mobile space
6.Experience of working in large information technology company is plus
7.Exceptional professional written and verbal communication in both English and Chinese
8.Ability to prepare a quality presentation within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings

Education Requirements
Preferred education background with an engineering degree and MBA.
