POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Texas Education Agency is seeking a talented individual to join a team of professionals in the Permanent School Fund (PSF), a $42 billion perpetual public fund endowment that helps finance the state’s public school.
The Investment Analyst works under the direction of the Director of Private Markets, performs routine investment research and analysis work. This position monitors, research, and analyzes investments and markets within Private Equity and Real Estate. The analyst assists in the investment due-diligence process, assists investment staff in manager relations and communications. In addition, the analyst assists in maintaining due diligence files and deal flow databases and assists in the preparation of reports for monitoring and approval of private market investments.
This position works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
Experience: Strong preference for candidates having a minimum of two-years work experience in investments analysis. Strong PC experience with financial analysis and software applications including advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point and Word) skills. Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and private market tools (e.g., Burgiss, Preqin) is preferred.

- Track manager communications, on-site interviews, document reviews, analytics, reports, and other activities.
- Provide administrative support in managing the private markets calendars and scheduling on-site due diligence visits.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of investment due diligence, investment analysis, and performance measurement technology platforms and systems.
- Perform related work as assigned.

- Prefer candidates to have basic to moderate knowledge of private equity and/or private real estate investments.
- Basic knowledge of securities accounting, procedures, and market operations; of securities research and investment banking; of statistical concepts and methods and their application to research analysis; of various financial data systems; and of macroeconomics.
- Skill in mathematics, statistics, and in the use of computer software programs, particularly high performing/advanced in Word, Excel, and Power point.
- Must have strong oral/written communication skills.
- Have clear focus on excellent customer service and delivery of error free work product.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, be results oriented and able to exhibit strong work habits.
- Ability to apply financial research techniques and to conduct exhaustive searches and evaluations of vast amounts of data utilizing the internet and other resources.
- Knowledge and understanding to analyze, evaluate and summarize financial data and prepare management reports.
- Must have the ability to prioritize the work, to be flexible and manage multiple projects and assignments with attention to details and minimum supervision.
