California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) committed $1.25 billion to private equity. According to November 16, 2015 board meeting materials, the $291 billion pension invested $1 billion in CVC Strategic Opportunities Compounding Capital and $250 million in GSO Energy Partners.
