I'm a Managing Partner at Golden Gate Ventures, an early stage seed fund for startups in Southeast Asia with strong ties to Silicon Valley. With two startups behind me, I'm an active advisor and mentor. I spent 2011 traveling around Asia, meeting with startups, investors, and budding entrepreneurs. I hosted events to help foster the startup ecosystem, such as SuperHappyDevHouse.sg and FailCon.sg with over 200 attendees from 7 different countries. Before moving to Singapore, I built two startups in Silicon Valley, Meetro.com, a location-based chat service which was dissolved with many lessons learned in 2007; and Lefora.com, a hosted forum service which grew to over 100,000+ communities and was acquired in 2010. Prior to my time in San Francisco, I spent four years within IBM, holding many roles, including product development within IBM Research, leadership roles in two global IBM communities of practice, and I helped shape how IBM was approaching social software for the enterprise. I am passionate about the startup and entrepreneurial lifestyle. I joined my first startup while still in high school. I truly enjoy bringing the Silicon Valley spirit to other places.
