Tyson is an Investment Officer at the George Kaiser Family Foundation. He is responsible for evaluating public and private investment opportunities with a particular focus on private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and credit. Tyson spends significant time evaluating and managing direct investment opportunities in privately held companies, participating at a board level for certain investments. He also serves as a committee member allocating capital to mezzanine and senior debt investments in venture-backed tech and life science companies. In addition he also evaluates and manages relationships for a variety of investment funds, both public and private. Prior to joining GKFF, Tyson managed a corporate credit portfolio at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and has earned the CFA designation.
