Sid Malhotra, CFA, CPA is the Chief Investment Officer for Kactus Capital Management and responsible for leading the firm’s investment efforts. Kactus Capital is an institutional family office focused on multi-asset class investing across public and private markets on a global basis. Institutional Investor nominated Kactus Capital as 2019 family office of the year. Prior to joining Kactus Capital, Sid was a Vice President in the Asset Management group at the Pritzker Group family office where he focused on portfolio management, investment manager selection, direct investments, co-investments and risk management. Previously, Sid worked in Portfolio Management at Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO), a $9B leading institutional hedge fund of funds, where he was responsible for sourcing and analyzing hedge fund managers, including due diligence, risk monitoring and portfolio management. Before joining PAAMCO, Sid worked as a credit analyst at Citadel LLC. Sid began his career in the audit group at KPMG LLP before joining the Transaction Advisory Services group where he provided merger and acquisition advisory and financing services. Sid earned an MBA in Analytic Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Masters in Professional Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas – Austin and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Sid completed the Value Investing Executive Education program at Columbia Business School and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Sid is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA).
