Currently, as Senior Advisor, Strategic Partnerships at Oxford Properties Group, an OMERS-owned, global real estate owner and operator with an AUM of $64 billion, Scott partners with the President and executive leadership team to develop partner capital solutions to help drive total returns for the pension. Scott joined Oxford in 2017 as a Vice President, Asset Management driving value creation strategies for a regional CRE portfolio valued at over $16 billion. In partnership with venture and growth equity teams, Scott was a key advisor to the President in the successful launch of the company’s digital transformation, co-founding Oxford Strategic Partners Inc., which made inaugural investments in line with the strategic portfolio goals to double AUM in 5 years. Since joining Oxford, Scott has represented the company as a Board Director, Observer and Advisor on several portfolio companies, including Procore Technologies (formerly Honest Buildings).
Previously, as Senior Vice President and Lead Portfolio Manager, Scott co-founded and led global investment, strategy and management of the flagship Global Property Portfolio Fund of Nippon Life Global Investors, a registered investment adviser and subsidiary of NLI, one of Japan’s largest insurers with over $740 billion in assets. Under Scott’s direction, the platform expanded across the risk spectrum from core, value-add, high-yield through opportunistic, invested into 18 new countries and broadened to include global infrastructure and other real assets. Scott began his career as a member of the acquisitions and development team at Brookfield Asset Management and Tishman Speyer in New York.
Scott holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Urban Development from Western University and a Bachelor of Environmental Design, Architecture from Dalhousie University. He is a long-standing active member of ULI, PREA, AFIRE, NAREIM, INREV and holds both the LEED® AP credential and the National Association of Corporate Directors, Directorship Certification (NACD.DCTM). Additionally, Scott volunteers with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) in a fundraising, sponsorship, and community outreach capacity.
Scott is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying water and winter sports and building treehouses. He lives with his wife and three children in the New York area.
