Bob’s first success in the ETF market was the development the first full’40 Act ETFs in the U.S. market with WEBS, later rebranded iShares. Bob has been at the forefront of commodity benchmark ETFs, MacroShares, and factor benchmark ETFs called FactorShares.
From 2000 to 2005, Bob participated in the development of over 250 domestic and 12 international ETFs as the head of the New Products division of the American Stock Exchange. Bob was also the Executive Director of Amex ETF Services that provided ETF consulting to 17 different partnership exchanges. Most recently Bob completed work with the Philippine Stock Exchange for the issuance of their first domestic ETFs after working with their internal regulators and central depository for two years.
Bob has worked with many significant people in the financial services market including: Burt Makiel, Robert Shiller, Richard Roll, Vikram Pandit, Peter Quick and many others.
