Randy is an experienced venture capital investor and advisor to institutional investors on alternative asset allocation strategies, manager identification, evaluation, selection and monitoring, particularly for venture capital funds, funds of funds, secondaries, and direct investments. He co-founded Court Square Ventures (Automated Insights, CSTV, Yandex), a venture capital firm investing in enabling technologies, where he was involved in all aspects of the firm's operations, including fund conception and fundraising, deal sourcing and selection, portfolio management and company development, investment liquidity, and relationships with limited partners. Prior to Court Square, Randy managed a significant family office, was involved in the formation of synthetic biology startup Rheogene (acquired by Intrexon), and held a variety of senior management roles, including as special advisor to a White House-convened advisory council on IP, privacy, and security; head of technology strategy at ASCAP; co-founder of Egg Pictures (PolyGram) with Jodie Foster; and at Interscope Communications and Ogilvy (now WPP). Randy has a BA from Princeton and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School. He is founder and chair of the Charlottesville Police Foundation. Randy has been an invited speaker on robotics and intelligent systems, and he is a Visiting Scholar and EIR at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University.
