Ping Zhu, CFA, FRM, CAIA
Ping Zhu, CFA, FRM, CAIA, is Senior Associate Director at Verus Investments, responsible for investment due diligence and capital market research across a broad spectrum of asset classes and investment strategies. In addition, Ping is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Saint Mary's College of California, where he teaches graduate-level courses for the School of Economics and Business Administration. Previously, Ping served as Vice President at Strategic Investment Solutions, an investment consulting firm that was later acquired by Verus. Prior to that, Ping was Senior Research Analyst at another consulting firm (Alan Biller & Associates), focusing on investment research across traditional and alternative asset classes. Ping also served as Financial Analyst for a long/short equity hedge fund (Fullerton Capital Partners), as well as Co-founder of a startup company (Capbayer). Additionally, Ping had over six years of engineering and management experience at Micronas USA Inc., where he was a founding member of the firm. Ping is an active speaker and sits on investment panels at many conferences hosted by a variety of sponsors, including Markets Group, LendIt, Pension Bridge, SuperReturn, AAAIM, Pensions & Investments, IMN, Bloomberg, etc. He earned an MS/BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and an MBA from Haas School of Business at University of California—Berkeley. He has also earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and the Financial Risk Manager designations. Ping is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of San Francisco, CAIA Association, and Global Association of Risk Professionals.
