He leads the sales effort for promotion of the firm’s real estate investment trust (REIT) and US large cap growth equity strategies. Before joining CCM he served seven years as a portfolio manager and partner of Gulf Investment Management, a large cap value equity firm which was acquired by OppenheimerFunds. Prior to OppenheimerFunds, Mr. Stavar had a combined fifteen year track record, as Assistant Treasurer of two multi-billion dollar defined benefit plans -- BASF Corporation and Allegheny Technologies Incorporated. As a plan sponsor he was responsible for establishing the investment policies, portfolio manager selection, in-house equity programs and related portfolio structures for U.S., Canadian and UK pension master trusts. He served as a member of each corporate investment committee with direct report to their respective Board of Directors. For a three year period between heading defined benefit plans , Mr. Stavar served as the CIO of Mellon Bank’s $40B Securities Lending Business.
Mr. Stavar received his B.S. in Accounting and M.B.A. with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ. He holds designations as both a CPA and CFP, and is a member of the AICPA and the Financial Planning Association.
