Michael Hermanson recently became the Plan Administrator for the Imperial County Employees Retirement System in November 2015 after retiring from a similar role with the Tucson Supplemental Retirement System, a position held since 2000. A Certified Public Accountant in the state of Arizona, Mike volunteered to serve on the Government Finance Officer’s Committee for Retirement and Benefits Administration for 6 years, participating in various task force assignments to write best practices and advisories to benefit governmental pension plans. After receiving his accounting degree from Texas State University, Mike left Texas to start a career in public accounting as an auditor, progressing through the ranks to become a partner at the firm, where he was responsible for managing the firms’ tax practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico until moving to Arizona in 1995. A professed lover of golf, Mike enjoys cooking for his friends, listening and playing music and traveling around the world when opportunities arise.
