I’ve spent the majority of my career as an impact investor, entrepreneur, and/or strategic advisor to early stage domestic and foreign organizations in a range of arenas, including data commercialization, predictive analytics, SAAS B2B platforms, healthcare (services/devices), retail technology, FinTech, consumer products among others. I feel quite fortunate to have landed in my role as a socially driven venture capitalist, as it satisfies my passion for helping others and influencing societal change, while leveraging my strategy, business development and diverse operating experience. At Serious Change, I co-manage a growing portfolio of 50+ companies (2 funds). I spend my time working with management teams to understand businesses better (ours included) and to chart comprehensive and forward-looking business plans that balance social goals with measurable bottom line results. In my various roles as board member, investor, coach, and business advisor, my unconventional brand of strategic thinking provides practical approaches to real life opportunities/challenges. I bring an unflinching curiosity and reflective nature, a wealth of operating experience (4 verticals, 4 countries, Startup/Fortune 500, R&D, Wall Street) and a continual need to synthesize and evaluate the details of the moment within the context of the bigger picture. For some, long-term strategizing is an annual or quarterly exercise, whereas I instinctively tend to analyze and develop strategies in real-time. In understanding the fundamental drivers of a business I am certain the key element is its leaders. My ideal collaborators are highly intelligent, open-minded, evidence-based and execution-oriented teams/individuals. Together we have shown we can unravel complex problems, unlock hidden value, anticipate strategic pivots and identify and capitalize on opportunities. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, we work hard to make our collaborations meaningful and fun.
