After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Finance, I was commissioned in the Air Force. While on active duty, I earned a Master’s of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. I retired in 2007 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Texas Air National Guard with my last position at the State Headquarters as Director of Plans. I began my investment career as a Systems and Investment Analyst with the Meadows Foundation while also earning a Master of Business Management from the University of Texas at Dallas and a CFA designation. I worked at the foundation for over twenty years rising to Assistant Vice President and Senior Investment Officer. I was named the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer in 2010. I was responsible for a $750 million globally diversified portfolio with investments in equities, bonds and alternatives. During my tenure, I was responsible for the overhauling of the foundation’s investment policies and investment charter. I was also responsible for the development of the strategic asset allocation which substantial reduced the investment portfolio risk and diversified the investment portfolio. I created an investment training program for new members of the investment committee and board which increased the members’ knowledge of the portfolio holdings. I have served on several voluntary investment committees including the Council on Southwest Foundations and I was the Chair of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation. Currently, I'm the Director of Investment Services for Lamar University in Beaumont Texas
