Emmanuel Lumineau
Emmanuel is the founder and CEO of T&J Capital, an investment investment management group dedicated to the opportunities generated by a transition to a low carbon economy. T&J Capital also advises on technology investing and special situation Investing in Europe.
Prior to T&J, Emmanuel was head of Investments at Masdar City, the World’s first carbon neutral, zero waste, clean-technology cluster powered by renewable energy and the $25bn centerpiece of Abu Dhabi sponsored “Masdar” initiative where he underwrote $2.5bn of real estate, infrastructure and clean technology investments.
In 2010, He returned to Europe with the vision to create a Private Equity group to invest and develop in innovative technology companies and ecocity projects in Europe. He also founded 1OAK, a diversified alternative asset manager with focus on liquid strategies (hedge fund) and private equity. Over three years, the group grew to $250 mil. of Asset Under Management. In 2012, Emmanuel established and acted as executive investment manager, for the 1OAK New Digital Age Fund, a private equity fund investing in late stage technology companies, where he led the investment in Twitter Inc, and high triple-digit returns. He spun out of 1OAK in October 2013 after the Twitter IPO, to lead TJ Capital.
Emmanuel has 15 years of investing, financing and investment with real estate, infrastructure and technology in Europe, US and the Middle East. Over his career, he has originated and executed in excess of $25bn of property and technology transactions in bulge-bracket banking teams in London and New york with Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, lastly Goldman Sachs, where he was head of Continental Europe Real estate banking. He started his career as a Technology banker at Salomon Brothers in 1999 in London.
Emmanuel holds a MS in Management with a Finance major from HEC Grande Ecole, Paris and a MS in Management from the CEMS, WU Wien. His final research paper focused on “the development of carbon credit markets in Europe”.
