Cupau Ltd is a company focused on innovative investment solutions for ecosystem services and sustainable livelihoods projects supporting poor communities in developing countries. Cupau's Ecosystem Services division has developed a unique early-stage cross-project funding mechanism which has been designed to integrate with existing carbon accreditation standards and which can be applied to future "credit" markets such as biodiversity, water and species protection credits, all of which are under development and will have global impact. The Cupau Sustainable Livelihood division focuses on establishing for-profit projects to provide ethical returns for the indigenous communities and investors. The company's projects typically involve industries which provide high levels of employment or are regarded as critical in developing countries. They include forestry, safe water provision, food security, farming, fishing, artisanal mining and renewable energy.
