Mr. Cesar A. Baez is the Founder and Managing Partner at Centinela Capital Partners, LLC. He is an investment professional with more than 27 years of senior executive responsibilities in private equity, asset management, media, and investment banking. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Baez was the Head of Strategy of Institutional Business Development and Private Equity at Deutsche Bank Alternative Investments. Prior to this, he was the Head of Alternative Investments at the State of New Jersey Investment Division, where Mr. Baez established the first alternative investment program in the pension fund’s history. His duties included the establishment of policies and procedures, investment plan, business plan, staffing, manager selection, consultant selection, and asset allocation. From September 2001 to November 2003, Mr. Baez was a Co-Founder and Partner at Momentum Media Capital and from January 1994 to March 1995, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Bancomer Securities International. He was a Partner and Principal at Hick Muse Tate & Furst Latin America. Mr. Baez was also a Partner and Principal at Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Inc. of New York, where he co-founded the firm’s Latin America private equity investment initiative and from April 1995 to July 2001, was also responsible for the firm's investment activities in Latin America. He also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of CEI Media Holdings. From September 1991 to January 1994, Mr. Baez was in charge of Smith Barney's Investment Banking Group for Latin America. From February 1990 to August 1991, he was in charge of the Latin American Investment Banking Group of Nomura Securities International. Mr. Baez was a Director at Fusion Telecommunications International since March 1998. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Toigo Foundation. In 2006, Mr. Baez was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He earned a B.S. degree in Economics and Business Administration from Wagner College of New York, New York.
