Bruce Kusmin is a co-founder of Mariner Wealth Advisors. He specializes in strategic wealth planning and in creating innovative solutions for families and business owners. He works with closely held business owners in the areas of long-term and succession planning. He also has extensive experience in the field of charitable giving; he helps families find the right solutions for their philanthropic objectives. Bruce has nearly 30 years of experience as a financial advisor and was formerly a senior vice president of investments for A.G. Edwards. During his tenure with A.G. Edwards, Bruce specialized in advising corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals on investment strategies, asset allocations and wealth transfer. Bruce has a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State University and attended graduate school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He has been honored three times as a Five Star Wealth Manager by K.C. Magazine (2007 to 2009). Bruce is an active member of the local community and also spends time volunteering outside of the United States. He is a member of the board of directors of the Global Orphan Project, an organization dedicated to housing and feeding orphaned and abandoned children. He has made several trips with his wife and children to Haiti as an ambassador of the Global Orphan Project. He also serves as a board member of several organizations, including: a closely held community bank, the Johnson County Parks and Recreation Foundation, and the Joshua Center, an organization that provides services and support to neurologically impaired children and their families. Bruce is a former president of the Plaza Kiwanis Club and an accomplished instructor in the areas of investment management and financial planning.On September 14, 2011 Bruce was honored in New York City as one of three finalists in the Global Community Impact category of the Community Leadership Awards, sponsored by The Invest In Others Charitable Foundation. The recognition is a result of his contributions to The Global Orphan Project, an organization committed to orphan care in developing nations. Bruce also participated in the NASDAQ Opening-Bell Ceremony on September 15.
