"Bob Verbeck is vice president and chief financial officer for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), a $33 billion business unit with 59,000 employees worldwide that combines weapons and aircraft capabilities, intelligence and surveillance systems, communications architectures and extensive large-scale integration.
Verbeck is responsible for all financial activities of BDS, including its three businesses -- Boeing Military Aircraft, Network & Space Systems, and Global Services & Support -- as well as an advanced technology development organization known as Phantom Works. He leads an international organization of more than 5,700 employees that includes teams in financial planning and analysis, accounting, estimating, contracts and pricing, integrated scheduling, rate forecasting, procurement financial analysis, and business operations and earned value management compliance.
Prior to this assignment, Verbeck was vice president and chief financial officer for the company's Boeing Military Aircraft division.
Verbeck joined McDonnell Douglas in 1986 in Finance, after working as a steelworker. He has held varying assignments with increasing responsibilities including program manager for the UK tanker program, controller of BDS and general manager of Finance.
Born in East St. Louis, Ill., Verbeck holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in international business from Saint Louis University. He has served as the Boeing executive focal for Saint Louis University and is currently a member of the advisory council for the Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University."
