Apurva Mehta joined Cook Children’s Health Care System (Fort Worth, TX) in 2011 and serves as VP, Managing Director of Investments. Working with the Chief Investment Officer, he oversees management of the portfolio across all asset classes, including strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations, investment manager selection, manager performance evaluation and operational oversight. From 2008 to 2011, Apurva was Director of Portfolio Investments at the Juilliard School in NYC where he served in a similar capacity helping oversee Juilliard’s Endowment of roughly $1bn. Apurva was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers in the Investment Banking Division and Investment Management Division, focusing on Global Business Planning and Strategy from 2005 to 2008. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Apurva worked from 2001 to 2005 as a Senior Investment Analyst for Citi Institutional Consulting in Washington, DC, focusing on asset allocation and manager due diligence for endowments, foundations and pension funds. Apurva received his B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from The George Washington University. In 2012 and 2013, Apurva was named as one of the Top Forty Under Forty by aiCIO Magazine, which recognized Apurva as “Fresh Talent at the World’s Largest Asset Owners”. In April of 2013, Apurva was named a “Rising Star” of Foundation and Endowment’s and in June of 2013 Apurva was named a “Rising Star” of Hedge Funds by Institutional Investor. Apurva is currently serves on the Investment Subcommittee for Fort Worth Country Day and as a board member at Capital for Kids in Dallas, TX and the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA of Fort Worth.
