Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, allocated $750 million to private equity in May, spokeswoman Jeanne Chenault said to Pensions & Investments.

Officials at the $68 billion pension fund committed $500 million to the Carlyle Group Cavalier Fund and $250 million to buyout fund Charterhouse Capital Partners X.

The moves were announced at the June 19 board meeting.
