2020 should have been a celebratory year for Airbnb, a time when founder CEO Brian Chesky took the company public in one of the biggest tech IPOs of the decade. Instead COVID-19 hit and devastated the travel industry and Airbnb was forced to trim about 25% of its workforce and bench some of its more ambitious moonshot plans.
