Most scientists agree that we'll need to suck carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere in order to avoid the worst consequences of climate change. This week, Silicon Valley's largest startup accelerator, Y Combinator, put out a request for startups working on high-tech ways to remove CO2 from the air. A recent report National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine suggests the US government should immediately invest in "negative-emissions technologies" as well.
