Sears Holdings CEO and hedge fund investor Eddie Lampert offered to work out a possible deal buy the distressed retailer's real estate, Kenmore brand and other assets. The letter could accelerate the downsizing of Sears, which has closed hundreds of Sears and Kmart stores over the last few years.
