Hyperloop One investor Shervin Pishevar met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and 18 sovereign wealth fund leaders in Saint Petersburg Thursday, giving a speech on the venture capital firm he co-founded, previous investments and Hyperloop One.
Shervin Pishevar, co-founder of Sherpa Capital who is known for investing in Uber and Airbnb, was in Russia attending the 20th International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg. Pishevar was part of the event with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the top executives from 18 sovereign wealth funds who collectively manage assets worth more than $10 trillion. Pishevar later posted a photo of the meeting on his Facebook page, calling the gathering “the largest collection of sovereigns in history.”
Pishevar was invited by Putin to speak on Sherpa Capital, Uber and Hyperloop One, the company founded to realize Elon Musk’s ultra-high-speed transportation concept, according to his Facebook post.
