He holds a PhD in mathematics from the University of Brussels, and is an actuary and member of the Belgian Institute of Actuaries (IABE). His main research activities are focused on stochastic finance and pension theory. He is also a partner of the actuarial consulting company REACFIN. He has published six books, mainly on the topic of pensions and finance, and numerous papers in various actuarial journals. He regularly teaches courses at the universities of Barcelona, Strasbourg and Rabat. He is co-editor of the ASTIN Bulletin (the journal of the International Actuarial Association) and vice president of the board of the international AFIR Committee.
